Dustin Martin's Albert Park home among 1400 properties going to auction around Melbourne

Recently retired AFL superstar Dustin Martin will put the first home he ever bought under the hammer this weekend as Melbourne’s first week of summer auction action heats up. It will be the ex-Tiger’s first step towards a potentially multimillion-dollar property payday to kick off his post-footy life, with a series of commercial addresses linked to the Richmond great also up for sale. PropTrack figures show Dusty’s Albert Park property is among more than 1400 homes scheduled to test the market across Victoria this week. The former Tiger bought the Kerferd Rd home in 2013 for $990,000, but it goes under the hammer with a $1.8m asking price. The three-time Premiership winner is also a Norm Smith Medallist who claimed the 2017 Brownlow and retired at the end of the 2024 AFL season. He lived in the three-bedroom Victorian terrace for a number of years, before making it an investment property that he rented out until recently. Nick Johnston Real Estate’s Rachael Cavallaro is handling the sale and said there had been good interest in the property since it was listed for sale early in November. Ms Cavallaro said most of the buyers were being drawn in by the renovation of the character home that set it up for modern tastes, as well as its convenient location. And Martin could soon be in for a further property windfall, with plans to sell a number of commercial properties he bought as part of a syndicate including manager Ralph Carr.
